James B. Higginbotham

Chairman and Co-Founder

James B. Higginbotham is Chairman of International Demographics, Inc. and is president of Higginbotham Associates, Inc., a full service marketing research firm with offices in Houston Texas and Phoenix Arizona.

He attended The University of Texas, where he received Bachelor and Master Degrees in Marketing and Statistics.

Prior to his current positions, Jim served as manager of marketing research for Tracy-Locke Advertising in Dallas and as director of marketing and research at Clay Stephens Associates in Houston Texas.

He has been a lecturer in marketing, statistics and management at the University of Houston and Rice University.

He served on the American Marketing Association's advisory committee to the Bureau of Census for planning and design of the 1980 census of population.

 

Robert A. Jordan

President and Co-Founder

Bob Jordan came out of the advertising agency world and along with Jim Higginbotham, developed The Media Audit in an effort to provide media and advertising agencies with a different way to sell and buy media. Prior to his current position with International Demographics, Inc. Jordan held leading positions at Metzdorf Advertising in Houston as the Director of Media, and at Goodwin Dannenbaum, Littman and Wingfield in Houston, where he was the Marketing Research Director. During his tenure at GDL&W, Jordan worked with Higginbotham Associates, a full service marketing research firm to conduct a number of banking surveys in several markets in Texas and Louisiana. In 1971, along with Jim Higginbotham, they founded International Demographics, Inc.

Prior to his position with GDL & W, Jordan also held marketing positions at Tenneco Oil company and Tracy Locke Advertising. Jordan received his BBA Degree in Advertising and Marketing from the University of Texas.

As President and Co-Founder, Jordan oversees all sales and marketing activities from the company's headquarters in Houston, Texas. Jordan manages the company's tightly focused sales group as it targets emerging media to join its existing client portfolio, and works with co-founder Jim Higginbotham in evaluating new methodologies of the future that will accurately gauge the pulse of today's consumer.

 

J. Phillip Beswick

Executive Vice President, Media Group Sales

Phillip Beswick, has 30 years experience in media research, sales and sales management. His research experience includes a stint as TV research director for the largest TV broadcaster in Canada, Baton Broadcasting.  Subsequently he took on responsibilities in national sales, serving some of Canada's largest ad agencies in Toronto. After 3 years managing sales for an Ottawa radio station he opened Birch Radio's Canadian operation.

Eventually Phillip left Toronto for New York as Senior VP group sales for Birch/ Scarborough Research and helped build the company into a major radio ratings and qualitative research company.  In 1993, he joined The Media Audit as EVP with local market and group sales responsibilities.  Working with media from small local operators to the country's largest  media companies, Phillip helps the media substantially increase their revenues by matching their strengths to the market needs.

 

Michael W. Bustell

Executive Vice President, Sales Manager

Mike has been with the company since 1993.  In that time Mike has been the Midwest Market Manager based in Columbus, OH, and then Chicago, IL.  Promoted to Manager, Major Markets, Mike moved to Norwalk, CT, outside of New York where shortly afterwards he became the company's EVP Sales & Marketing…and later The Media Audit's sales manager.  As a salesperson for The Media Audit, Mike has never been outsold in any given year.  He has personally opened 14 of the company's 80+ measured markets.  In addition to his sales manager responsibilities, Mike is personally responsible for two market visits to 20-30 markets every year with each member of the sales team.  In addition, he handles the company's relationship with several of the company's largest media group customers.

Mike is customer-satisfaction driven and is responsible for helping develop such TMA software programs as "Media Day Analysis" and "Internet Reach & Frequency".  Prior to coming to The Media Audit, Mike was Major Market Manager for Impact Resources MA*RT, and a Radio Sales Manager or salesperson in the markets of Billings, MT, Denver, Nashville, Columbus, and Chicago.
